Plot 3 (Brassicas) I brought on Brussel Sprouts, red and spring cabbage in the frame at home and planted them out on the 14th of April. As belts and braces against the dreaded slugs, I have put them inside bottomless pots and surrounded these with slug pellets. They were still intact when I checked on them on the 1st of May. By the middle of May the slugs had made a start. Some of the plants were nibbled but none lost. All are under wondermesh to keep them safe from birds, especially pigeons. All I need is for the weather to be favourable.
